Jammu and Kashmir: Any changes in procedure to grant permanent resident certificates will be opposed by NC, says Omar Abdullah

Any moves aimed at changing the procedure for granting permanent resident certificates (PRCs) in Jammu and Kashmir would be opposed by the National Conference (NC), party vice-president Omar Abdullah said on Sunday. Abdullah further described the reported directions of Governor SP Malik-led state administrative council (SAC) in this regard as "an attempt to distort the demography of the state" and "detrimental to J-K's special status".
