Rafale documents not stolen from Defence Ministry, petitioners used photocopies of original papers: Attorney General Venugopal

A row between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) errupted on Friday after Attorney General KK Venugopal said the documents related to the Rafale deal were not stolen from the Defence Ministry. Venugopal further said that what he meant in his submission before the Supreme Court was that petitioners in the application used "photocopies of the original" papers, deemed secret by the government. His statement was dubbed as 'lie' by the Congress, while the ruling party slammed Rahul Gandhi for his attack on the government over the issue.
