Leh, Srinagar and Jammu witness coldest night of the season after fresh snowfall

The mercury continued its downward spiral in the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh owing to clear skies with Leh, Srinagar and Jammu experiencing the coldest night of the season, a meteorological department official said. Leh was the coldest recorded place in the region on Monday night with a low of minus 15.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature in Srinagar dipped to minus 3 degrees Celsius, 2.1 degrees below normal during this time of the season, the official said.
